Laura Gorman Potenza has been in interior design for over 28 years. Prior to running her own residential design business, she worked for some of the top hospitality interior design firms in the world. 

Laura grew up under her renowned architect father, Peter’s, watchful eye. Starting in high school and throughout college, Laura interned for her father’s company, BBG/BBGM/Architects & Interiors, in New York.  https://www.bbgm.com  This is where Laura’s love of design began and grew—working at an interior/architecture firm while in design school created a perfect learning environment. It also helped develop her keen eye for space planning. After college, Peter, who believed in one making “their own way in the world,” wanted Laura to seek employment elsewhere for a few years. Laura decided if it wasn’t going to be BBGM, it might as well be their number one competitor, Hirsch Bedner, in Atlanta, GA.

Laura was a designer for Hirsch Bedner Assoc. and then eventually returned to BBGM/Interiors in their Washington, DC location. Notable hospitality projects include The Peninsula Hotel, NY, Private Apartments at the Waldorf Astoria, NY, Oakbrook Lodge (Private Hotel for the McDonalds Corporation), Oakbrook, IL, and many local residential projects.  Present work ranges from new construction (complete design builds), renovations, additions, retail spaces, pool houses, kitchens, bathrooms, basement renovations (complete with gyms, wine rooms, bars, saunas), and all interior finish projects.

Laura also has experience building homes, working with custom-build clients and homes "brought to market" by local builders. Laura collaborates with Bluewater Home Builders on many projects. She is a New York School of Interior Design graduate and holds a BFA in interior design. She has worked with all varieties of clients and prides herself on truly understanding the client's needs. Laura is a member of ASID and is an active alumnus of the New York School of Interior Design. 

Laura resides in Fairfield, CT, with her husband, their five children, and two puppies.
